Black Phoebes might just be my favorite bird to photogragh, They are extremely social and will often flutter over or perch near you just off the ground. You can always find them near water since they make their nests out of mud similair to swallows, wether thats walking along the beach or near streams that lead to the ocean. They are extremely curious and oportunistic hunters always on the prowl for insects like dragon flys and spiders.

(Left side) In the early mornings the local Osprey will find a nice perch to warm up and fluff his feathers. They have a tendency to hunt the same areas usually diving into the water to catch an unsuspecting fish.
Ospreyes are not the only hunters in then sky. Routinely marines from Camp Pendelton can be seen flying sortys in Sikorsky UH-60A/L Blackhawks.
